Turn time is the Stockfish cap for the engine beat (rule choices plus the chess move). The clock starts when the engine begins its turn — not while you think or while move analysis runs. Movetime above is reserved first; per-candidate time is the remainder divided by max evals. Lookahead lines share that remaining move time — more lines means shallower thought on each.
